NATO 2014 comes to South Wales

Controversy and discussion prevails over whether Newport and South Wales will benefit long-term from the NATO Summit being held at the Celtic Manor, Newport (or the Vale of Usk as th Celtic usually describes its location).

Protestors were expected in their thousands, but only turned out in their hundreds. Did the toll on the Severn Bridge prove too expensive? I can't think it was a reluctance to come to Wales.

But with the delegates flying home and the miles of steel fencing being removed, it leaves the green-keepers to repair the greens on the golf-course after aircraft and military vehicles were displayed for the media.

Even Barack Obama has undertook the task of marketing Wales to the World. In his farewell speech he remarked on the beauty of our country and the welcome given by the Welsh.

Well ?   All you have to do now is come and see us.
