There's no place like home (Wales)

A coal dram at Big Pit, Blaenavon

In case anyone was wondering why I haven't added anything lately, its because I have been on holiday in Canada. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island to be precise. The weather couldn't be faulted. Despite parts of USA and Canada having torrential rain, earthquakes and hailstones, we had glorious sunshine for the whole time. (Except one morning when we got soaked to the skin at Peggy's Cove.)

All this leads me to say how I missed the mountains of Wales. Seriously. Although there were interesting places, wonderful beaches and space - loads of space - Wales has it all and more !!  Wales is so much smaller that you can get to so many different venues within minutes or an hour. In Canada you can drive for hours past fir tree after fir tree to get to a beauty spot.

As I have said before in the pages of this blog. Within ten minutes you can move from the centre of a town to a lonesome mountain top, from a beautiful park to a windblown mountain lake.

Although I enjoyed my holiday and made new friends along the way. Its good to be back.
